4 of 4 covers for most recent uni project entitled 'Imagining the Future'.

This story is basically about a woman who is telling her story about how the worlds views on women changes and the landscape of the world with it, with todays well known places changing names etc, as well as its people. The main character (who is telling the story) is renamed Offred. Women are second class citizens in this modern world of repression and unfairness. There are only a few women who are treated respectfully and those that are, have a hatred for those that are not.

Oh go read the book! lol if you want a synopsis check out amazon. my head hurts. lol

All typography on this cover was hand-rendered and is not a downloadable typeface.

have you read this book??!! it so happens to be my favorite of all time. i've read it four times in one summer and i own the film. this made me incredibly excited!1!

i haven't actually read any of the books I designed the covers for - I was given a synopsis and worked from that. does it fit the story at all? i wasn't sure but I wanted to make something 'gently' opressive if that makes any sense whatsoever! haha

u can find a place for serif font through all these freehands fonts :) that would add a sense to the design

ah well the thing is all the type had to be hand-rendered so if i used type it would be against the brief! but i'll give it a go just to see what it looks like ;)
